We have a full time School Police Officer on site at the Worksop Outwood Academies. PC Case is available to support and offer guidance to students on a range of issues.
“My role as a Schools Officer is to be at the service of staff and pupils who require advice/ intervention on a variety of issues. These issues may relate to what pupils are experiencing at school or at home. I am here to give advice and to deal with issues such as bullying, cyber bullying, violence, drugs, alcohol, sexting and none attendance home visits to name just a few. One of my main priorities at both of the Worksop Outwood academies is ensuring all children are in school, arriving on time and accessing their education. Therefore, if a student is absent and we have not heard from parents/carers, the likely event is that they will get a home visit from me. I also run an enrichment club at both academies. These run from January to July, so keep an eye out for details in your VMG. The clubs will follow a course designed by myself that has won national recognition from the Home Office, Suzy Lamplugh Trust and the Chief Constable for youth engagement. In my personal life I’m involved in Scouting as an Assistant District Commissioner and an avid Rugby Union fan following both Wales and Leicester Tigers. Ultimately, I am here for you to help you and safe-guard you if you are having any issues, in or out of school, which will affect your learning.”
“I’ve been a Police Officer for 25 years (I know I look a lot younger)! During this time I’ve worked all over North Nottinghamshire, in various specialist roles covering Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, Sherwood, Retford and now Worksop. Coming to the Outwood academies in Worksop is a bit of a return to the fold for me, as I was brought up and educated in Worksop and I did my GCSE’s and A Levels at both Valley and Portland Comprehensives. Yes, there are still some teachers around who taught me!!!”PC Dave Case
